SEMAX 10mg
Semax – synthetic research peptide (reference standard)
Purchases are available only in the Polish version of the store and in PLN.
Description
SEMAX 10 mg ILABS is a research kit containing the synthetic peptide SEMAX in lyophilized form and 3 ml of bacteriostatic water. Semax is a heptapeptide, a short peptide composed of seven amino acids, with the sequence MEHFPGP.
Structurally, Semax is an analogue of the adrenocorticotropic hormone fragment ACTH(4–10). This means that it was designed based on a short fragment of a natural peptide, but as a synthetic compound it has a precisely defined and reproducible amino acid sequence. The product is intended exclusively for laboratory analyses and in vitro research.
In laboratory studies, Semax is analysed primarily in the context of neurobiological processes, including neuronal signalling, neurotrophin expression and mechanisms associated with the BDNF/TrkB system.
The kit contains 10 mg of synthetic SEMAX peptide with a stated purity of >99% HPLC and 3 ml of bacteriostatic water for use in accordance with laboratory procedures.
Characteristics
Semax is studied as a short regulatory peptide associated with the melanocortin system and ACTH fragments. In experimental models, it is analysed primarily in terms of mechanisms related to nerve cell function and their response to various biological stimuli.
The most commonly studied areas include:
- neuronal signalling,
- neurotrophin expression, including BDNF,
- BDNF/TrkB system activity,
- nerve cell responses under varying experimental conditions,
- processes related to neuronal network function and neuronal plasticity in experimental models.
With its defined sequence, molecular weight and high purity, Semax can serve as a reproducible research material in laboratory and biochemical analyses, as well as in vitro studies.
Applications
SEMAX 10 mg can be used as a research material in work involving:
- analysis of the purity and identity of synthetic peptides,
- stability studies of short peptides,
- development and validation of analytical methods,
- chromatographic comparisons,
- in vitro studies of cellular signalling,
- research models related to the BDNF system, TrkB, neurotrophins and nerve cell responses, conducted exclusively under laboratory conditions.
